MVP Logic Cage problem
« on: September 14, 2018, 11:53:35 PM »
We have a MVP MK5 machine which has been fitted with a MK6 main board. Machine had stuffed video monitor and we replaced that with an LCD conversion (Suzohap). All was working fine but developed a problem with the Logic Cage lockout. The switch is OK and the I/O board has been replaced (This is an Aussie NSW machine) but still comes up intermittently with the Logic Cage lockout. Any suggestions

I had a US MK6 do the same thing and was told to check the I/O board battery.
And then the machine went down I think with a bad power supply.
So that's where Id start.
1st rule of electronic repair.
"Thou shall check voltages"

Yes I checked the battery voltages and replaced them with some batteries I had which were 3.42 volts; the originals I started with were below 3.0volts. I might grab a couple of new ones as I have been caught before with lithium backup batteries. Thanks for you suggestion Proten.

Proten I replaced the two MK6 board batteries with new ones( they are quite difficult to get here locally) and still same problem. Very intermittent for the first hour of operation and then Logic Cage door lockout stays on all the time. Does anyone have an Aussie manual out there as the American machines are different; need to know how the alarm is handled. I assume it is an addressed lockout so could be a fault on the main board as signals seem to be ok on the backplane. Just thought I would ask before procuring a replacement MK6 main board.
