S2000 IO Board questions..
« on: April 22, 2018, 05:35:07 PM »
Ok... I have a question on the S2000 IO boards and part numbers. I was doing a repair today, have a machine not accepting every quarter inserted. About 2 out of every 10 would be returned to the coin tray. I had tried two different coin comparitors the other day, but that didn’t help. Today I returned with two IO Boards, one for the door the others was for the cabinet. I was thinking the door IO was causing my problem, so I swapped it out and turned the machine on. Now I have a coin-in jam message that I can’t clear. Ok.. shut off the machine and removed my IO. It’s an 802, the original was an 801.. Both fit the door slot, but the 802 won’t clear my coin in jam.

I guess where I’m going with this story is.... I’m wondering if there is a list of IO Board numbers and what machines they go in? Does a 3 reel single line game use a different IO Boards then a 3, 5, or 9 line game? What IO Boards are used in a 5 reel machine? What numbers go where for the door and cabinet. What about the GK and I-Games? Is there a list of what numbers go where, because I like having spare parts here, and I obviously don’t. I felt stupid today when I didn’t have the correct IO Board with me for the repair.. luckily it turned out to be the coin in optics were my issues.
Sorry my question turned into a rant, but I’m just a little confused right now..  :soapbox_3: :thank_you:

And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Generally the 802 I/O is used in dual row button deck machines & 801 in standard 3 reel machines.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Ok.. But what about the other IO Board numbers out there.. What ones go where? Is the cabinet IO Board the same on all games, even multi line games? What are the numbers of the IO boards used on the door when you have 2 on the door?

801s and 802s for door on 5 reel multiple button line. Sometimes you will see two 802s but I have never seen 2 801s together.  Plastic cased door IO must be paired with plastic cased  cab I/O. Usually used on three or four reel machines.
