That makes no difference as long as the black or yellow wire is at the top on both. It depends on which end of the harness is plugged in to the LCD.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

So if it’s not the wire, the denom touch pad or the 663 board what can it be ?

I looked at the PSR for the 363 chips,  Key chip mode,  7.1.1.4   allows you to set what lamps lite for what quadrants, there are several settings, when I have a LED light box and no touch pad, I select the lamps for quadrant 1,2,3,4 to be on, perhaps there is a setting that will turn all of them off?  don't have a machine in house to test it.

also, Test 4.21 Door output test,  select test number 4.2.1.5,  test lamps in the touch pad.

hope this helps

Jim

I think you have to use the # 45 or # 31 key chip to set the percentage of each denomination and control panel 1,2,3,4

I tired both 4.2.1.5 and 7.1.14 without any luck, there was no option to turn on or of the light only the buttons work as they should..

I also tried to key the machine with key 31 and everything worked as it should except the light, so still no progress..

Thanks for trying to help me guys 😇

Trying to sum up your problem here...>>>

Since there's really no option in the options to turn on/off any specific denom light, and you cannot get the LEDs to light up using the 4.1.1.4 tests, I'm suspecting that the problem is still a "physical" thing rather than an options setting.

The problem lays with a bad ground wire somewhere in the harness lines going to the LED box or a burned out trace or IC component on either the backplane board or the MPU.

A bad ground wire going specifically to the LEDs ( not a data wire) is making ALL the LEDs lights go out simultaneously or not even turn on.

We know the data wires work because you say it changes/switches denom values when you touch a quadrant?

We need to find a drawing of the wiring and see which lines you need to check for continuity.

Rarely if ever, do all LEDs burn out at the same time....plus you've tried other quad LED boxes & lightbox harnesses.

It's too bad you don't have access to another cabinet to test the LED quad boxes, harnesses, any other components of the "problem" machine.

Yes it looks like you resumed it good, thanks :)

Im also pretty sure it’s not in the option setting after checking,
and yes all the wires looks like working perfect since the denom value changes when touched..

How can I check on the backplane board and the MPU if the problem is there ?

Well...It's NOT going to be easy...
We have to get some schematics so we're not looking at every bloody wire.
gimmie a few minutes...I'll see what I can dig up.

Do you know how to use a multimeter to check for continuity?

Also, you might wanna get that spare board from Jim....might need it
I've gotten boards from him...he's very good and checks them out before sending.

so many drawings ...I cant find it.
best thing to do is check the pins on everything going to the door

Wow, this sounds like a challenge!

I have a multimeter but I’m not familiar using it but I must give it a go and try figure it out I guess!

I think I have bought stuff from Jim  before and I have only good experience from him

I’m really thankful for all the help :)

Thanks to Mark we are one step furter in the progress to solve my issue with the multi denom led..

We found out that I don’t have any 25 voltage as I should on the pin 1 (contact j 250) on the seven segment 663 board, I also tried one other 663 board and it showed the same, no power on pin 1..

Any tips for what to check from here?

I’m not sure but if this is the right order of pins on the j51

1   3  5  7   9   11
2  4  6  8  10 12

Pin 1 = 0
Pin 2 = 0
Pin 3 = 0
Pin 4 = 12,9
Pin 5 = 00,2
Pin 6 = 12,6
Pin 7 = 12,3
Pin 8 = 12,4
Pin 9 = 12,5
Pin 10 = 9,8
Pin 11 = 8,5
Pin 12 = 0

(I used the multimeter on Vdc 200 when I checked the voltage)
