Bill validator upgrade question

I have a IGT S Plus game with a bill validator that will only accept older bills. Is there a way to upgrade the software without changing the whole unit. Thanks.  It has a wba 13 unit.

You can buy the eprom, the last available file for S+ is new $5.  The new $100 file will never be made as this platform is no longer supported.  The chips can be had for about $20 give or take a few.

You need to look at the bottom of the unit to see if it has a large chip like your board or a little soldered in chip. If it has the large one you can change the chip. If not it need to be flashed

WBA13 eprom, WBA12 Flash. I'm assuming eprom since he mentioned WBA 13.  But, sometime they do swap heads around and the only way to tell for sure is to look under the transport.
