game king bill validator stone dead

little green men, dead wba-10 with 024 software. no start up cycle or leds.  different acceptor, same deal. harnesses are connected to the plug for the acceptor. how do i trace for power ? does it come off the backplane?  i cant follow the wires back from the acceptor plug, they disappear. what voltages am i looking for? could it be a fuse??  not sure if this should be here or the BV forum, but i think its in the game, not the unit.

They go to J10 on the motherboard.  Trace them from the back of the validator to motherboard.  The red/black wires on the back of it is the power connection and should have +13VDC on it.  There isn't a fuse on that line.

not sure if this is best fom the bill validator forum or the i game forum.  i now have 2 leds lit on the bill acceptor. all dips off. i do a nexplex auto config, i hear it cycle,  and it says installed. still doesnt work, or cycle on start up.  if i try to read the crc, i get an error, no crc . if i clear the error, redo the auto netplex, i still get no crc. its a wba-10-ss , USA-601-24  . hand written stickers says ido 24 v 3.00  .  is it a config error in another menu, SAS or some other?

did you happen to do a battery change on the board at some point?   could it be that the bill val is not enabled??

Doesn't the BV run it's initialize sequence on power-up regardless of if it's enabled or not?
I'm a little confused by the conflicting "i hear it cycle" & " doesnt work, or cycle on start up" comments.  Which is it?

initially, it made zero sound, no leds.  got the leds back, still no cycle on start up.   it would cycle if i did a auto netplex, but still didnt work. i was never able to get the crc to show up, it would say error. now, like magic, it started working, no idea why.
