Swapped it out, did another clear, installed my OS card back in. Still getting mechanical reels not configured, mechanical reel 1 & 5 device error and mechanical reels device error, should I try to replace this board as well?

On a side note, I installed the reel controller board from my 3 reel machine in and it now shows mechanical reels not configuration, now 1,2,3,4 and 5 mechanical reel device error & mechanical reelsdevice error. All 5 reels are spinning slow like normal during the last part of the boot up if extra info helps any

If you swap reel controllers, you need to clear the machine. Also have you tried using the reel controller you removed on the good machine to see if it works right?

I think I have 3 or 4 different Bally Alpha clear cards. Is there a specific one I should use?

The clear card goes with the bios version the mpu has. The wrong clear card will not work (it will give you an error, or won't boot at all).

Ok well I got the right clear card then but still no go on the tlreel errors, this and the Dublin machine is gonna send me over the edge I guess

I would just start replacing one part at a time from a healthy machine to determine the part that is producing the problem.

Ok I got the Diamonds & Devils at my house now. Aside the Quick Hits, what do you suggest I swap out first, the real controller board in the middle above the reels?

I'd start with the backplane behind the reels.

Changed out that backplane, same reels not configured error. Any chance this could be the culprit? This one is a spare that I have. Also could this same error be MPU related?

You need to make sure the parts you are swapping are known to be working, otherwise, you are just going around in circles. The part in the previous post is the reel harness, it could also certainly be the cause of the reel 1 and 5 issue (or whatever 2 reels didn't work before). But all reels not configured would appear to be something else. Have you also tried swapping out all the USB cables?

I have not tried swapping the USB cables but I do have a green LED beside each one of them while the machine is on.

Swapped over all those parts from the working machine plus uses the USB cables out of the working machine too, still getting mechanical reels not configured & reel 3 device error, the only thing I have not swapped out is the reel harness assembly. About ready to pull what little hair I still have out, ha ha! I'm on a mission now, this machine has kicked my butt

have you swapped the power supply? Specifically the 5/12V one.

sometimes wonky 5/12v power supplies will not have enough juice to power the reel assemblies. There are actually two versions of that power supply, one of them has a higher current rating on the 5v line (45 amps if I remember right), that is the one meant to be used for stepper machines.
