Making a new Frankenstein WMS BB2...need the guts

Looking for a BB2 MPU with Bios & jurisdiction chips and housing with backplane mount. ( I have a backplane I want to try )
Of course, to run it, I need a power supply / harness between that & the backplane board.

Topbox and door wiring harnesses, printer & bill validator brackets, etc. etc.....all the metal guts basically.
Some sort of a button deck...could be the non-OLED or OLED...doesn't matter really.
It will be installed openly upon a bench...not in a cabinet.

Right now I have a reel shelf, transmissive LCD and harnesses for that. :yes:

Drawing inspiration from my previous WMS platform frankenstein exercise, essentially you would do this.  Just replace the WMS550 backplane with BB1/2 backplane, the Legacy I/O and CPU 1.5+ with a bb2 mpu, and the 550's old style dual powersupply with a bb2 power supply, and an oled button panel and you should be good to go.

That's how I laid out my 1st S+ on the floor.

I wanted to understand it more at the time.

I remember removing all the larger zip ties and finding which wire pairs went where before I ever had a schematic drawing.

That way I was able to easily understand which wires went from the backplane connectors to other components in a machine.

After a while, you see and learn the pattern of wire colors for the grounds and hot wires.

Later on, when everything is in a cabinet, it becomes far easier to know which wires do what.

With everything exposed outside of a cabinet and on a bench, it's far easier to swap parts too!

BB1 power supply is cheaper (about 1/2 the price) than a BB2 power supply and it still works.  I comes with the power harness too so no need to find a separate one.

I did what you suggested....have a BB1 power supply coming as well as complete MPU.

I just need the backplane mount plate to get this project started.

I will probably make my own harnesses from schematic drawings for the reels and LCD's.

Looking for a working button deck OLED or standard.

An S2000 button deck could work easy enough...just have to change a few pins into a different bacjkplane socket.

Updating progress...>>>

1). BB1 Power supply (Attached harness fits BB2 backplane)
2). Backplane (Mounting plate is coming in)
3). CPU & housing (Bios & Jur chips coming in)4). Standard 13-button deck with harness.
5). LCD monitor 22" & HDMI/DVI cable (no LCD power/touchscreen harnesses to backplane)
6). 5-Reel deck with reels & controller unit (no controller harness to backplane)
7). MEI bill acceptor & bill box (no harness to backplane)
8). Need a GEN 2 or Ithaca printer & harness? Would an MEI PSA printer work? 


I have a little bit of software/games ready to test out - I'm okay there.
I believe what is going to happen when I power this up is that the machine will be looking for door/bill validator closure switches.

I will attempt to bypass all errors at the backplane or make short harnesses to a switch panel on the bench to emulate door closure.

5-Reel deck with reels & controller unit requires just power and a CAT 5 cable to the backplane
