S2000 "No Disp" error message

Picked up an S2000 that isn't working.  Start the machine and it won't boot all the way.  Get alarm and message "no disp".  The VFD is blank.  I changed the CR2032 battery on the MPU and removed the green battery which had some corrosion.  See pic.  Could this corrosion be causing the problem?  Any advice on what to replace or test?  I don't have a scope, but do have a DVM.  I do not have any schematics.  Thank you for any help.
