Summit/Bally Value
« on: February 19, 2015, 09:29:13 AM »
What is the value of a working Summit / Bally conversion machine?
Its a five line quarter machine in fair condition.
Not sure what year as I haven't seen the machine yet, but from the photos it appears to around 1970.
Would $400.00 be to much to pay.
Thank you for all replies.

Imo  they should be paying you to take it  unless you need something that old , stay clear of it  you can  buy something  much better for same price

Very hard machines to fix if they break.. Make great boat anchors, or door stops.. For that money you can get something a lot nicer..
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

I bought a clean dollar Summit for $175, with the promise that there was at least $100 worth of Ike dollars inside it. He didn't have a key and was not working.

I made out good, since there was 155 Ike dollars in it once I drilled the lock.

Getting it to work was a big learning curve, but really, it's my nicest machine among the standard Bally machines.  Very colorful from the Paradise casino.  Works 100% and I even modified it to make spinning sounds when the reels spin (wasn't an option from the factory, but the sound was on its sound card).

Like I said, it's a big undertaking to learn how it works and you will be an expert once you get it going.

Well, this is weird. I was playing the machine, won 10 coins, and noticed an odd sound in the coin tray. Didn't sound right.

So, I took the won coins out and inspected them. Nothing odd. Dropped them back in the tray, one of them had an odd sound. So, it took them out again and dropped each of them on the table, one turned out to be hollow!

Played with it for a while, and managed to get it apart - it was machined out on the inside with sort of a pocket that you could hide something - very thin, but something could be hidden in it. Looked like someone took two Ikes and machined them to make one coin.

This was one of the coins I got when I bought the machine. Who knows...?
