IGT Reel Touch Battery issue
« on: February 18, 2015, 05:30:26 PM »
I fixed the issue with my top box on the reel touch. phew
Now in the bootup process it says "Main Battery Low" on the lower LED display.
My question is , which is considered the main battery? There are 3, that I know of.
The ones on the game board are a 3.6 volt barrel battery which measures 3.8v
the other 3v wafer one measures 2.6v. this doesn't look like it would be a simple swap out as it appears to be a one piece battery and mount. Am I correct in this?
The other battery is in the top box.
Any info would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks. Frank   :banghead:

The main battery is the 3V lithium that's soldered on the board. It's pretty easy to replace but you must remove the board from the tray. Many people solder in a socket for easy replacement in the future.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Frank,
It is the battery that is at 2.6 volts that you must replace.
If you have a 500 series MPU board it is a solder in BR2330 (or replace with a holder and use cr2032)
If you have an enhanced MPU it's a CR2354 and you just slide it in the holder.

Radio shack has the holder for like $1.62 or close to it. It sure makes a difference when changing batteries.
