I might get a 873-5ZV, is it interesting compared to a fruit machine? Are there any schematics, Wolf?

Some machines like these have been modified with electronic components.
This can be determined by the circuit boards below the reels.
Generally I stay away from machines with circuit boards unless the price is right.


Otherwise they are great machines and fun to play.

Hi David, thanks for your reply, I can't look inside have some more pictures, looks like a machine from 1978, quit new do you think it will have circuit boards? For a project like this, machine has been adjusted to not paying out coins, I genarally pay not more than $350.

No circuit boards is a good sign.
If that is the machine hasn’t been altered in that respect.
350.00 is a decent price for that machine.

games that only have 7, BAR and 5/BAR symbols were usually called "lightning" models. 


the 873-C is also a lightning and the docs for that are on http://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/


first thing to check when seeing if paper is close is if the plug types are the same.  The 873-C used jones plugs, while the 873-5ZV could use molex plugs.  If the plug type is the same, then a quick check of the payout counter and codes stamped into the slotted reel index discs will give you an idea how close the game is to the 873-C paperwork.


if all that looks pretty good, then differences tend to be minor - like if/when the bell rings and optional accessories like tower lights.
