The fun of intermittent problems

Heres the scenario, Bally E1000......works and plays fine , but when it wants to itll tilt and not read reels, sometimes its shortly into playing it sometimes its after 50 spins...... clear the tilt and its ok for a while sometimes does it again after a few spins. it does not give an error that a reel was not read it simply never completes the spin and stops the reels........here is whats been done


reflow all joints on all 3 reader cards
reflow interconnect reader board
cleaned all pins on aux board and went over all plug terminals on aux board plugs
checked all cons from reel assembly through the jones connector, did find one bad one
machine still does it
only thing I can see to lean towards is the U1 U2 U3 on the aux board


any thoughts or input is appreciated

Basically, something is overheating after a while - knocking things out.
I know nothing about the old Bally's so I couldn't tell you what IC component is going outta specs.

What I have found consistent is when it acts up pop the reel assembly out and put it back in and it finishes the spin, I think the 3 ics on the decoder board are suspect
