So what's in the key hole where the jackpot reset key are normally?  Did he install a push switch or is it still the key hole?  They are standard keys so you should be able to use a key from another machine.  And yes YOU DO need the jackpot reset key.  It is useful for many things, like to clear a handpay!

The key switches are still there. Do they even have hand pays anymore with the ticket system? Is there a switch that detects the printer is in there that would give the PRINTER OPEN error? Thanks

You could have a faulty printer as well, the printer slides forward as a means to make it easier to restock paper. if the printer is not pushed in all the way, you would get that error.  It is an optical sensor typically and they could go bad.  Try sliding the printer forward toward you and pushing it back in.  Yes you do have hand pays.  If you win over $1,200 on a single spin, you will get a hand pay.

If i pull the printer out a little and put it back in the error goes away. Then when I close the doors the main and belly door it comes back up with call attendant. Then when I open the doors and hit the diagnostic button the printer open error is back. It will do this over and over. I am wondering if when I pull the printer out and pop it back in it detects it long enough to clear the error but it is not staying detected and that is why the error is back once I close the door and it tries to complete boot up. Just wanted to note that all this is going on before the game fully boots. It does not fully boot so it is trying to finish boot when the doors are closed and not trying to go back into standby mode. Thanks

If you want to know for sure it is the printer.  unplug the printer, clear the machine and set it up again (disabling TiTO) to see if you can play it without the ticket printer.  If you can, then you probably need to replace the printer.

Ok i pulled the printer out completely and replaced it with a known working one from another machine. Then the machine booted up an ran perfect. On the printer that will not work the LED open light on the printer is on all the time (in the pick). Do you know what will cause the open LED to be on all of the time. The thing is the printer worked fine when i turned it off the last time. Then i had the trouble with the stacker unit switches which ended up being the stacker unit being off kilter from removing cash can with second door open. Allowing it to raise up and pull forward. Then inserting the cash can did not go back far enough to close the cash can open switch. Which also is the reason for the front doors not shutting right. After I figured this all out then the open printer error was there not allowing the machine to boot. Thanks

The sensor that detects open/close could have gone bad on the printer.  It happens more frequently than you'd think.

Is there a way to test that sensor? Can it be replaced or would the printer just have to be replaced?

If you keep getting the open printer issue, then it's the sensor.  You can take the sensor from another printer if the other printer has something else that is bad.  But honestly, the printers are so cheap, why bother?
