Bally Alpha Gamemaker HD set up
« on: October 01, 2016, 01:10:23 PM »
I have a Bally Alpha Gamemaker HD. Its has video games on it such as keno and so on. I had a low battery fault and replaced it. I cleared the machine and waited as the games were downloaded. When that was complete it came up call attendant so I turned reset key and I am now getting Pending Status 1. Demo not set. 2.Paytable not set. 3.Devices not set. 4.Date/Time not set. 5. Attendant menu entered. There are some boxes on the left side of the screen but this is my first time trying to reset a GM HD. I had to do this once before but I was walked thru the process. Can somebody post step by step what I should next. Like I said I am new to the Bally Alpha GM HD setup. One more question I have a Ethernet Link Acct plug and I forgot if I plug it into the USB 0 port or the 100MBPS Temp port. I have it plugged into the 100MBPS now. Thanks for any help I can get!!

There's no ethernet link necessary on a gamemaker HD unless is networked to a controller.  Do you mean a USB plug?  The Gamemaker HD button panel is usb based, I usually plug it into USB 0, although I don't think it matters if you use USB 1.  As far as the setup is concerned the gamemaker is a bit more involved than a regular alpha since you have to setup multiple games and the level of complexity in the setup depends on how customizable you want your game to be.  There's an easy "default" setting that sets up games at default values.  What version of the game maker suite do you have.  I could post a video of the default setup process for you to follow.  For the record, to start the setup process, you do not turn the jackpot reset key for anything.  You open the lower door and press the test button to start the setup (It is the little round white button on the mpu, usually next to the little power toggle switch on the MPU).  Turning the jackpot reset key gets you into the attendant menu, and does not allow setup.  You have to perform the setup with the bottom door open the whole time and enter the administrative menus by pushing the little white button.

Thank You very much for this information. I get thru all the set up and the only Pending Tilt I still get is Validation Not Set. What am I doing wrong? Everything else I solved but when I go to the main screen that Validation Not Set comes up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Messing with this machine for about 2 hours now and that is the only problem I have. I know its something that I am doing wrong and its got me crazy!!

If you configured a printer, it needs validation set.  You set that up in the com menu.  Set Host Com 1 to SAS Primary, then config SAS to Standard.  That should get rid of the validation not set message.  You can watch my video of an alpha configuration around time frame 1:01  ignore the part with the progressive settings.  On my video I select system because I have a TITO system.  If you don't have a TITO system, you select standard.

I know is an old thread but Rick's video helped me set up my Bally's Blazing 7 9000 after the batteries  died. Now my Game Maker HD's batteries are dead. I just hope setting this GM back up is just as easy..

It can be very easy or complicated.  The Game Maker's have a default setup option that sets up all the games with various denominations.  But if you want to control which games get which denoms, you have to individually select each game with it's intended denomination.  Below screen shots of the relevant setup screens.  Everything else is exactly the same as setting up an alpha stepper.  On the screen where you can select default game config, you must first setup base denom and enable Multi-denom, you hit set, and then you can tick on default game config.  Then you get a screen where you pick the game sets. If you chose standard, then it will enable all the default themes, then select standard denoms to the right of it, unless you want to specifically pick each denom for each game.  Then you save all and you are done.
