S6000 coinless help needed
« on: March 19, 2016, 12:28:23 PM »
So I've noticed that S6000's that have been converted to coinless have 2 jumper wires installed in the hopper plug to bypass the fact that there is no hopper any longer. My question is exactly where do those jumper wires go? Is there anything else I need to do to make the machine coinless? I have a blazing 7s with a $1 denomination that I want to convert to coinless rather than trying to round up a bunch of $1 tokens.

Someone here will know for sure but I think there are 2 jumpers that get installed on the hopper plug after removing the hopper, one jumper goes from pin 6 to pin 10 and the other jumper goes from pin 7 to pin 11. The pins are numbered from left to right, top row is pin 1 thru 5, etc.

Here is another thread that talks about the same question:
http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=8174.msg43471#msg43471

There may be some preference settings that need to be changed also, like handpay for example.

Yes I need to set it to handpay all winnings. How do I do that?

I think you will need to get into the options/settings and change option #56 (Hopper payout limit) to zero. That should force a handpay. To do this you go into the 11d options settings by opening the door and pressing the TEST button while your looking at the reel glass display.  Press it over and over until you see it say "11d" and this will be the options menu.  After you see that, stop pressing the test button and the display will change and say 27. Next you press the Bet Max button over and over until you see option #56 on the screen. After you get 56 on the screen you use the SPIN button to change its setting to zero. Then you press the BET MAX button to confirm and lockin the change.

I think you will want to set option #81 to zero also, this sets the machine for coinless operation.

Be careful about not changing any other settings unless you are sure about them, that could cause you other problems.

This is info I got from an older thread, it is something I'm not too familiar with. Do you have the Bally manual for your machine? It should give the info needed and make it easier for you when stepping thru the various options settings. Might want to wait for others here to correct what I've written, in case of mistakes, since I don't own a Bally 6000 and haven't done this procedure.

I'm fairly familiar with the 11d options and procedure. I guess my question should have been more specific. You touched on the stuff I was asking about with the recommendations you made concerning options 56 & 81. As I understand it option 56 is the setting for the number of credits dispensed to the credit meter on a single win lockup greater than 800, the remainder being dispensed by the hopper. I don't want to alter the single win lockup amount, in other words I want the machine to lockup on single jackpot wins so I have to use the audit key to clear it. However if credits are showing on the credit meter and someone presses the cash out button instead of paying those credits through the hopper i want the machine to display "call attendant" or "handpay XX credits". That's what I need to know, which options do I change to accomplish this. Option 91 is only to turn the coin acceptor on and off.

You don't need the jumpers in the 11d menu set 54 to 0000. 61 to 0002, 81 to 0000. I always set 56 to 8000+.
Good luck

I tried it but it didn't take. It displayed error 50-38. I think the problem is setting option 61to 0002, I have leave in mains which do not support a printer.

Still having a problem getting around this coinless conversion issue. In its current configuration when I try to cash out credits it goes into tilt 32 because there's no hopper. I have to do a safe ram to clear the error and restore gameplay. The leave in mains I have will not support a printer so I cannot direct payment to ticket only. So at this point I'm a bit confused. I know I've seen coinless S6000 machines with no printer that would simply display "call attendant handpay xxx credits" when you cashed out. How can I make this happen? Suggestions?

61 Must be set to 0002 Or it will look for a hopper

After a ram clear it will want to print a ticket on a cash out. after one ticket has printed it will then go to hand pay until another clear is done.

11d settings
56-0000
51-0800
58-0800
you can use leave in mains, no printer or hopper.

I tried exactly what you suggested, unfortunately changing option 56 to 0000 disabled my bill validator which left me no way at all to add credits. I changed 56 back to 800 and the validator works properly again. I'm beginning to think "coinless" is more trouble than it's worth...

Is the bill and denom going to give you more than 800 credits?? I use 56-0000, 51-2000 & 58-2000 all the time. I thought changing them to 800 would give you your upper limit at 800 instead of 2000.

Machine is set for $1 denomination. Coin switch on front of mpu is up. I tried changing 51 & 58 to higher amounts but it made no difference. If I set 56 to 0000 the bill validator is disabled. If I set 56 to 0001 the bill validator works but it will only accept one single dollar bill and no more. If I set 56 to 0005 the validator will accept 5 one dollar bills or a five dollar bill and no more. And so on, and so on.. It would seem that the value of 56 dictates the amount the validator will accept. Also it still goes into tilt if I try to cash out any credits and there doesn't appear to be a way to circumvent this problem.

So I finally figured this out. For coinless operation of a S6000 install the 2 jumper wires in the hopper plug as previously discussed then access 11d options and set 56 to 0000, 51 to 9999, 58 to 0800 and 81 to 0000 in that order then exit 11d options. The machine is now coinless with no printer required. When you press the collect button the message center displays the number of credits to be hand paid and it plays the jackpot music until the audit key is actuated clearing the collect lock up and returning the machine to normal gameplay with credits reset to zero.
