Here's a photo of the often-failed power supply connector on the motherboard. If you had a problem with this connector and you just wiggled it or reconnected it there could still be a problem with the contacts. For best results the wire cable connector contacts need to be replaced and the male pins on the motherboard connector cleaned thoroughly so they are bright & shiny, not tarnished or darkened. Once the female contacts inside the connector are tarnished from being overheated it is difficult to clean them very well, and they only make contact with the male pin with a small contact area so it is important that the contact's springy tension be strong.
Also, if the button lights were working before then while you were working on the machine you may have accidentally unplugged or disturbed a connection somewhere to a cable or circuit card. Take a look at all the connectors on cables and circuit boards, particularly where you were working.
I'm not aware of any other fuses hidden somewhere in the machine, just the normal ones you have checked. But if you only looked at the fuses and didn't use a meter that isn't a 100% way to check a fuse. The fuse element inside may have blown where it is connected to the metal endcap and you can't see that easily, fuse would appear to be good. Best to use a meter. If you don't have one there are basic meters available for less than $10 at a lot of places like Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, maybe even WalMart.
