What happens if a IGT s2000 overheats?

I am wondering what happens if a IGT s2000 slot machine over heats? Will the machine not know when to shut down and Short out? Or does the machine shut itself down if it gets too hot?

It melts.
There is no overheat protection per se in a S2000 but they are made very robust to survive the casino environment .
I've seen many standard S2000s operational without the top cooling fan operating and everything inside covered with an inch of dust.
Like all electronics it is best to keep them cool and dry.
I live in Florida and like most of us I own way too many machines so some of them are in my garage which is dry but by no means cool. I can tell you for sure after about 7 years of use my machines in the garage have eaten replacement parts by at least 5 to 1 compared to the machines that operate in 68 degrees all of the time.

Thank you, it is super cool that you have a ton of machines. Currently I have one IGT s2000 machine and another IGT machine. Do you leave your machines on all of the time? I turn mine off a lot because I have a fear of things overheating

I turn my machines off and actually unplug them because of the many thunderstorms here.  I also use APC battery backup power to help ensure no spikes.

That's good that you have surge protectors, my two machines constantly stay plugged into a surge protector. I've been to Florida before and I find the thunderstorms to be very loud and I think that the power went out once at my reletive's house. I'm curious if I can see some photos of your slot machine set up
