I always questioned the top prize for that slot in the Twilight Zone episode. $10,000???

According to one inflation calculator, $10,000 in 1960 (when the episode first aired), would be $86,370 in 2019!

I thought that was funny, too.
There were 20 stops on each Rol-A-Top reel. If there was just one jackpot symbol on each reel, the worst odds a player could have (and the best odds the house could make for itself) were 8,000 to 1 of hitting the jackpot.  Factor in all the lesser pays and a dollar machine with a $10,000 jackpot is just Hollywood fiction.

Not to hijack the thread, but you also have to consider back then the volatility of the machine was nowhere what it is today, so the earning potential of a machine was pretty low by today's standards.  That 10,000 jackpot back in the day was huge when compared to what a typical machine earned.  It is not just inflation, but also the introduction of virtual reel stops that make machines be able to take more of your money more often.  Can you imagine what the paytable hold on a machine that offered a 10,000 jackpot would have been back in the day in order to be able to absorb a 10,000 jackpot?  Of course if it was a $100 machine, then it's a different story.  What was the denom on that episode?

It was a $1 denomination machine and each of the three reels on the Rol-A Top had 20 stops, which meant there were 8,000 possible different reel combinations. Assuming there was one jackpot symbol per reel, the worst odds you were looking at to hit the jackpot were 8,000 to one.  Traditionally, the jackpot on an 8,000 to 1 machine was 200 coins, so $10,000 was just part of Hollywood fiction.

Mmmmm, I don't think it is Standalone, some of those games I am positive do not have Standalone software....The Double 3x4x5 has Standalone software....You really might wanna look for the Ccom.

Well, maybe I'm confused as to the difference between stand alone and WAP.  Being in my home, the machine is obviously not plugged into a Wide Area Progressive for a mega jackpot, so I assume it is operating in strand alone mode.  When I bought it, the dealer I acquired it from had reset the jackpot to $1 Million.  As you can see from the picture, with the small amount of play it has received since then, the progressive jackpot has increased by eleven dollars and change.  If that is not stand alone then please correct me.

The machine is Wap. Look on your back plane-lower bottom and you will see 2 fiber optic cables. these cables run to the Ccom board which was pre programed by the seller. The Ccom is probably mounted in behind player tracking plate or in upper monitor bay.
