Replace IGT PE with PE+

Will a PE+ board work in a model 1070D PE poker machine? Having a hard time finding a replacement PE board. I get a horizontal line on startup, no sound, and the line fades to black within minutes. Recently replaced battery, and this happened. I was thinking it was a bad board, or chips.

Short Answer NO. The PE (Video) and S (slot) were different beasts than the newer PE+ and S+


Is it perhaps an older PE+ without the bill validator ??
If you post a Pic of your existing MPU that would tell us for sure.


The PE+ had the option of two different MPU boards. The basic board had a program eprom, and the superboard had both a program and data chip. The superboard can run a wider variety of games, and also has a couple of multi-game chip sets. In addition there is a wing board available that allows you to put in your own selection of games as long as they all share the same caprom.

As Jay said, you cannot just swap out a board to go from a PE to a PE+ -- the boards aren't compatible.

From the limited info in your post, it sounds like your CRT monitor is going bad.
