Newbie to WMS Bluebird, request assistance
« on: April 22, 2020, 12:55:00 PM »
Have been around the forums for a few years, have had a few IGT, a couple of Ballys, Konami, and 1 Universal, plus a slew of pachislo machines, so not a complete newbie to slots but new to WMS machines.

I have a slant BB1 (not a BB2 or 3 I believe) with a CPU-NXT (don't believe its a 2 or 3), theme in it is Dean Martin Wild Party. It was working when I went to pick it up, drove it 3 hours home and got it home and put it in place. Turned it on, seemed to boot okay but then shut it off. When I went to turn it back on the next day, I get nothing on the LED screen but a black screen.

From some reading, I realize I should try and re-seat the CPU but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it out. I don't really want to wrench and pull on it for fear of damaging something. I can see where the box is on the front left of the machine inside but cannot see really how to remove it and put it back. Any wizards out there wiling to explain it to me?

I don't have a slant top, but there should be a lever on the bottom right side of the mpu (Not sure which orientation it is on the slant top), you need to push up toward the mpu and it will release it from the connectors, then you just pull up on it.  If you post a photo of the where the mpu is at, I can more accurately describe the motion, since I don't know if the mpu is sideways or what.

After I took the pictures attached, I found it. I guess on a slant since the mpu is on the front left of the machine, the lever is on top and back of the mpu. It was hidden by the plastic drip gaurd pictured in the first pic. But I have it out now, going to replace the batteries and put it back in and see if it was just loose. Thanks for the help

If you replace the batteries, you will need a clear card to setup the game again.  Did you get a clear card when you bought your machine?

I did not, I am in the process of ordering a TITO and clear card from bettor slots. Monitor isnt working correctly either, the led on the side is orange-quick green- and orange again. I think the video card might be out? The guy did tell me that sometimes he has to leave it on for a while, shut it off and reboot it and then it'll work so im guessing video problems, not monitor problems. Going to test it tomorrow with an external lcd monitor and see if that makes a difference, if that will work I mean

If the game fires up right away with an external monitor, then you probably have cap issues on the monitor, or the cabinet's power supply's 12v leg is having issues.
