door closure m door open b error
« on: July 30, 2020, 01:15:28 PM »
I have a double diamond haywire machine, that according to seller was working then started showing the door closure m and door open b. I have verified that the switches for the cash box are bypassed(cut from switch and crimped together, and the same for the belly switch.

I pulled the board(1952-0) and checked the coin battery which shows 3.04v. This is the only battery on this machine, as it appears that the green versa battery has already been removed.

I went into the operator menu and change to ignore bill tilts, but I still can't get the error to go away and allow play.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Door Closed M is not an error, but just a notification that the optics see the door as being closed. That's a good thing.

Door Open B will most likely be the Stacker Door. You said you verified that the switch was bypassed, but did you actually inspect it to make sure the wires are actually touching each other. I've seen a lot of hack jobs on wires that looked good on the outside, but were crap under all of the electrical tape. Lol.

I'd look around behind the BV housing as well, one wire may be cut or shorted from that switch. Inspect everything up to the backplane.

Just some thoughts.

Yes, I not only verified, but cut and stripped the wires and reconnected to make sure. Does anyone have a picture of what the back of the cherry switch should look like with a bypassed system?

Can you look closely, or post a close-up picture of where the green Varta battery would have been on the board?  When those batteries leak, they tend to damage the traces under and next to the battery, and unfortunately the traces right there are for the door circuit, which can cause phantom "door open" messages.

Here is a picture of the board and a close up of where I think the old versa battery was.
