Bally S6000 Sound Board and Bottom Speaker
« on: December 21, 2020, 06:25:45 PM »
I have a Bally S6000 that I can't get any sound out of, so I'm guessing the sound board has gone bad.

I've turned the rheostat up and down with no results. I also noticed that my lower cabinet speaker (the only one on this machine) is cracked and dry-rotted.

I'd like to find a Sound Board and Speaker that are in good working order for troubleshooting and/or replacement.

Not too many Bally parts on Ebay, so maybe a few of you Bally specialists can help me out.

Thanks, Curtis ash100

Did you turn the pot on the sound board that is to the left of the reels and not the pot on the MPU?    raz/Bob has parts on Ebay.  There is two different sound boards for the 6000.

Curtis, there are usually 2 sets of speaker wires in the lower cabinet. Try the other set. I am sure that bob will have a speaker or 2 and sound boards if needed too.

Thanks for the replies,

Yes, I was using the rheostat on the sound board and not receiving any results. I am aware, through reading older posts, of the extra set of speaker wires tied up under the handle assembly.

I believe those are the speaker wires that come straight from the MPU if the machine is not equipped with the external sound card. I will try those next and see if they will produce any audio.

Scott, I'll get with Bob after Christmas about getting some parts. I definitely need the speaker, and I'll get the part number from the sound board while I'm in there looking around. I just know it's different from the last 6000 I put together. The Quick Hit had the knob facing forward and I could adjust it without removing the #1 Reel. This one has a short knob in the center of the board that can't be reached without taking the Reel out.

Thanks again and hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!
