Absolute Newbie - What do I have-How do i get it going....???
« on: January 03, 2021, 04:58:57 AM »
Hi Guys,
Absolute newbie here.

When cleaning out a rental property ( Tenant did a runner ) we came across this machine in the garage. Thought it would be fun to get it going.

Turned it on and makes some noises, but them comes up coin error. I know nothing about these, I do have some basic electrical and electronics knowledge so if you can point me in the right direction I will work through what you can help me with. Also had a box of computer boards with the names of the aristocrat games on them.

ANY help gratefully received and welcomed.

Been starting the process and I read a lot about batteries ( on the boards ) that need to be maintained or replaced. As this machine probably came off the Arc I am guessing this could be a good place to start?

Looks like a sideways MK2.5 from the early 90s. I've never actually seen an original Super Bucks before, only Super Bucks 2/3/4/5 which were on newer machines. MK2.5s are so old they've even been emulated in MAME for the best part of 10 years, although due to their rarity MAME doesn't have many titles.

With any luck it might just want a flick of the jackpot key to reset the coin error if there isn't anything else wrong with it. Old Aristocrats like that are bulletproof, although some parts are becoming scarce just like vintage arcade components.

Thanks to the people who have sent me some messages and suggestion on getting it going.

Would anybody have an I/O card for this machine by any chance. Process of illimination but appears to be pointing to that?

Cheers TIA !
