The video signal comes through the MPU.  The monitor has power when you turn the machine power switch on.

It looks like the monitor has a small led on it next to some buttons onbottom right but doesnt light up
Its just dead at the moment

make and model number of the monitor might help.

guessing its a lcd:
generally if a monitor has power the led should be on, with signal most times it turns green, no signal most times its orange.

On further investigation i have fan, top box lights
And bottom door lights, both io boards have lit leds
And also coin mech
Nothing else works or shows signs of power going to it inc monitor albeit no mpu or software fitted
Ive ordered an mpu and software also a key chip 28
But if i unplug the ribbon cable from motherboard it has no effect
Which makes me wonder if power getting to motherboard or needs mpu to function
New to this so any advise greatly apriciated

Ok first of all RELAX.

Please post some pics of your monitor and the model information like Wiseone asked for.  While you're at it post pics of the machine inside and out too.  There are many different possible machine combinations.  Knowing how yours is configured will help us to help you.

Your monitor should have power regardless of whether you have an MPU board installed or not and it has absolutely nothing to do with that ribbon cable and the red LED light on the board.  That is the comm board.  You don't even need that unless you decide to install a TITO board in it later.

You said you ordered Key 28, that is for 044 MPUs with a flash board.  Enchanted Unicorn is a 3902 game.  It can run on a 044 MPU with a legacy adapter board in that case you need Key 37 or 40 though.  So did you order a 044 MPU?  Does the machine have a 044 motherboard already in it?  Do you have a legacy adapter board for it?  See why pictures help?

even without a MPU you should be able to see a faint glow on the monitor.

the monitor should be a slide in, so you could grab it by the sides and pull it out, might have model/make liste on the back of it.(after looking at your pics a little more, it looks like there is a label to the left of what you say is a control part)

by the pictures it looks like you are going to need a bill validator assembly.

Yeah wiseone i think i may of bitten off more
Than i can handle😂
Ill remove the monitor when home for any other matkings
Which may help find out make it is
Would it need a bill validator fitted or could it be bypassed ?
Also i could check the connector to the monitor for power to illimate
Wether its a power issue or duff monitor

You have a 19" Igame+ in what is called a Panda cabinet with a LCD monitor and 044 motherboard.

Pull the monitor out and take a look at it.  Some have brick style power supplies that are easy to replace.

When you turn the machine on the led on the LCD should light up and the screen should say no input signal or something similar since you don't have a MPU board installed.  The no input signal usually goes off after a few seconds and the screen is black, but power LED should be lit or blinking (depends on make/model of LCD).

Ive taken the back off the monitor and took some pics
Ive tested the monitor plug in connector and have 12v to some of centre row
Of holes and no others(not sure ive tested correctly though as not done it before)
Could any of the monitor boards be at fault ?
Thanks phil

If your green LED on the monitor is not lighting I would check the power supply (circled in red).  It should have +12VDC on the small white and black wires that come out of it.  Did you already do that?  I'm not sure what connector you were referring to.

Your photos are difficult to see clearly.  The board requires photos be less than 1MB, so if you can take the picture then resize it to fit it would be better.  I normally use my PC and a free program called Xnview to resize them and then post them here.
