Bally Alpha Reel Games / Re: Color flickers with different tints
« Last post by stlscott on Today at 02:56:04 PM »

Have an Alpha that colors would vary with red & green tint in color on monitor. Switch all cables, monitor, etc. Found problem. The MPU had
up & down play. tweaked the tray that MPU slides in to make it tighter. Problem solved.
Thought this might help someone if they run into this problem.

Can you share how you tweaked the tray, I've tried and I still get the occasional color flicker/changing

Get yourself one of these.  You can back up  your cfast cards using winimage.  Then use winimage with a similar CF card reader to make a CF of the game.

Also handy for reading or backing up SSDs too

It accepts the bills but doesn't give credits?

Yes, old MPU (it died) was accepting the credits. When I received the new MPU, it accepts the bills, however it doesn't give any credits.
It's probably something easy peasy..........

Does the open door "M" message display on the bottom right of the monitor (there might be more than just M, but that is the important one).  Getting just the Call Attendant message means there is not door opened, maybe the main door switch is jumpered?

This first coin light usually stays on permanently. The second coin in,  then lights up and so on.

Possibly the odds unit is struggling to advance or reset.
Best to inspect for missing springs, burnt coil, obstructions.
Also, check the switch stack for loose screws.
Make sure the contacts are on the correct side of the round peg.

Then manually advance and reset.
