"According to a complaint, a floor supervisor told the agents that the players did not want them watching and threatened to have them removed by security."

This is hilarious and shows the level of ineptitude someone can have and still get promoted to a supervisor. Maybe jobs like that are still based on who you know and not on your management skills.

A major part of my job is code enforcemnt(in a diff industry). Anytime someone blocks access or attempts to prevent an inspector from doing their job raises a massive red flag and creates a nice big target for future inspections.  Never a good idea and many times a fireable offense for the employee.

I agree with that, however it may have been way more profitable to pay a fine and keep their high rollers happy. Word travels fast in Vegas and the high roller/whale is a huge business in Vegas

That's an interesting angle I hadn't thought about. Looks like the casino would have a way for the gaming agents to observe the action without the players knowing they are there, like with remote video monitoring since the casino still has security cameras in the area or even an old-fashioned false wall or ceiling with two-way mirror. As long as the gaming commission approved the method for observation ahead of time you'd think they could work out a way to not upset the gamblers but still satisfy the legal end of it.

Oh you're absolutely right about having the gaming commission going into the surveillance room and watching from a remote area. But like you said I'm sure that the supervisor in charge wasn't thinking/looking at all the options.  But when the gaming commission asks for something I would think that the casino would comply since they could have gotten a much larger fine not to mention loosing their gaming license, much tougher audits, ect
