« on: July 07, 2018, 08:18:13 PM »
I am not sure what model I have, the plate says :model: microstar 2.5 I am getting a metering error and tried doing what it sai in another post but I have 6 Red buttons not 3 to reset the meters. Does anyone know how to fix this error? I have never seen the machine play. It had a bad monitor when I picked it up

Thanks

I have 6 buttons with you as well. And I am getting a metering error. So lucky for me I have another machine that works so eventually after trying to repair I changed boards to different machines. Both had the same results. The broken board game says metering error, and the good board game works in both cabinets. So in turn, it’s a board level problem. I replaced the battery as the original was from the 80s and the machine still has the error.

I have 6 buttons just like you do. And even when I get it into the “1” mode like it says and press all the reset buttons, only 2 actually labeled as reset... it still does not reset the machine... time started keeping track after I replaced the battery.

Any suggestions would help us greatly!

Thanks
Sam

Are they the same as the 540 in that both the jackpot and audit keys have to be switched on while hitting the 3 buttons?

That is the catch. There are 6 buttons and only 2 are reset. Hopper and memory.

Robot Test/Hopper Reset, Memory Reset and AUX 1 are normally the 3 buttons to reset a 540 (marked as PB4, PB5 and PB6 on the board itself), but I don't know if they are the same on the older boards.

Do you have any photos of the board or the buttons inside the machine? I managed to download a couple of photos of MK2.5 boards but they don't really show much apart from three RGB pots. On a 540/MK4 there are 6 buttons near these pots and you would normally push the first 3 at the same time after turning the two keys.
