IGT S+
« on: February 23, 2016, 11:25:36 AM »
I am new to this site and have a IGTs+ that was working and now the trouble began.  I have an owner manual and have done all the recommendations in the owners manual.  The error code was change battery
I changed the battery and then the "61" and the "61-1" message keeps coming up.  I have done all the steps that were recommended on this site to clear this problem.  The machine will not reset now will it accept a quarter, just drops through.  After opening and shutting the door a couple of times.  Lights on top is slow and the bottom is fast, and a quarter still drops through Thank you so much! Lenny

Welcome to NLG Lenny!

There will others helping you with this problem shortly. This error code has some different solutions to try, including doing a CLEAR procedure in stubborn cases I think. But let's wait to hear from the experts. If I understand you correctly, the machine was working fine until the battery went bad, that's the only thing that happened and the only repair you've done was to replace the battery, other than trying door open & close several times?

The first thing is after the 61-1 code close all the doors ,bill acceptor and any door turn the reset key
That should do it
Is your machine a slant top?

And make sure you latch the door when you shut it. Otherwise when you turn the key it won't work. Hope it gets you going. Welocme to NLG.

Okay, the 2 post by Leonard are running together. Let me get others up to speed. He sent me a PM and I told him to put this on the forum, so others can benefit too. Here goes: He says the error codes clear but when he puts a coin in it just drops into the hopper (tray?) and the 61 starts over. After asking specific questions about the reset, reel spin and insert coin light he says (verbatim)it never truly resets and never spins and the coin drops and goes from 0 to 1 to 0 to1 and the top lights are all pays and doors open...But the door is locked...Slow light on top and fast light on top. Thanks, Lenny.
Any ideas would be appreciated, my thoughts are the 61 is never clearing and he's trying to put quarters in before it's reset. 61 loop maybe? Waiting to hear more. Thanks,

Dave

Lenny here's what I want you to do. If the machine is showing the 61 error code: Open the door, push the white test button until it reads 61-1. Close the door and latch it and turn the reset key 1 time. Don't add coins or do anything else and let us know (minus the candle flashing lights) what it does. Does it go back to 61? If so you're probably in the 61 loop. Then we have to proceed differently. It will never take a coin until we're out of the 61 loop. Do that and let us know the results and we will go from there.
