Hi,

I'm always looking for information on this machine which is aesthetically incomplete

I try to start it anyway and by testing the Power supply board, I find 0.25 V instead of 5V, the other two tensions are good
I tested the same card on another slot machine and it gives good 5 v so the card is good but I don't know what causes the problem
Thank you for your help  :thank_you:

Looks like your power supply is not screwed down. It could be shorting on the metal frame, causing the circuit to fail.

Remove the board by unplugging both of the connectors and inspect the solder joints between the PC board traces and the connectors. It's a common failure with the original power supply boards to have cold solder joints there.

It’s also possible that there is a bad or loose molex crimp connectors on the PS plug. I’ve come to accept that not every machine can be saved. Pick and choose your battles. Sometimes it’s better just to make a parts box.

These three files will show you the output of the transformer into the fuses and then over into the power supply board test on AC

Hi,

Transformer voltages are good
The fuses are all good
The card works very well on another machine but announces less than 1 volt instead of the expected 5 volt, the other two tensions are good
The Molex connector and its cables are good

I don't understand where can the problem come from?
Thanks Filounet

Try unplugging the 2 large molex plugs going to the doors wiring. It sounds like you have a grounded out power wire some where. You could also remove all the boards, MPU, IO and hopper and retest the voltages. If this game has a sound board do the same thing with it. Then if the power supply is acting up you know it’s is the wiring harness. If your voltage is good at this point, then put back one part at a time until you figure out the problem.

Hi,

I tried to disconnect one by one all the connectors but it does not change anything so there must be a grounding somewhere but mystery for now  :Scratch-Head:

I would put my money on a bad plug on the PS Board. Try removing each crimp connector one at a time, cleaning them and spreading them open a bit. Then reinstall them and see if that helps.

try this!,  you have the better of the two types of connectors Bally used on the power supply.

pins 1-2-3-ac in
pins 4-5-6-7-    ground
pins 8-9-10  ac in
pin 11  ground
pin 12  ZC voltage
pin13  +5vdc  red wire
pin 14-15-16-17-18-19-  +10vdc
pin 20  ground

remove the red wire (pin 13 from the connector)  easy to do, just push in the stop and pull out, reshape the stop and re-insert.

this will test that all the other voltages are good and now you should be able to measure the +5vdc and it should be good.

now just trace the red wire in the loom and isolate where it goes, etc.  time consuming, but its the only way.

hope this helps

Jim
