AC Coin "The Munny Returns" information needed.

I thought I'd throw out a question on another machine...

I have an opportunity to purchase an IGT AC coin "Munny Returns" for a decent price. The seller says that he doesn't know what the problem is, but it does not work. What does AC coin mean, is it just a different version of an IGT machine? It looks like a cool machine, and likely a challenge to bring back to life. Is this one to stay away from, or is it worth the efforts to restore?

I would steer away from AC coin myself.  Parts can be very hard to find and not a whole lot of info on them. YMMV.

Ac coin was a company that saw the popularity of barcrest conversions and tried to do the same thing. They failed for a few reasons that i know of. the parts they used were low quality and unstable, barcrest was already a proven company with decent hardware, with better technology going into video machines these complicated and expensive animated top box games were often times just replaced with a machine with a big monitor in the top.

I'll tell you why.
I bought a roulette slot machine for a "decent price"...yep...you read that right...it's not a typo.
It was made by some company in the UK that went bust about 25 years ago.
Inside, the MPU had two empty chip sockets.
Do you think I can find two software chips for it? Nope.
That's like trying to find Noah's Ark.
I can't even find  another machine like it...IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
As far as I know, I'm the ONLY one that has one.

If it's all there, 100 is good. Still built from an igt s2000. I think I have some chips for that one, ill look tomorrow.

Since you're still kicking the tires, turn on the power switch, and make a video of it booting up.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the seller with some pics/video. I (with everyone's help) got the last two machines I bought from him going. We'll see if "The Munny Returns" shows any signs of life.

Member Sunrise Side has had a couple of Munny machines that he got running again. He may be able to help if it has problems.  For $100 I'd snag it, it's worth that in just parts if nothing else.

Thanks for the heads up, Sunrise Side definitely had some helpful input on these machines in the previously mentioned thread. I kind of felt that way also, worst that can happen is I'll have a parts machine for $100

I just scrapped a "Munny Returns" game due to lack of working parts, etc.

I ended up using the AC Coin Boards to repair a different AC Coin game I have, "The Quick Hit". It now works perfectly, intermittently.  Lol. As stated before, they are hard to keep running, but are pretty fun once you're able get one going.

I have a lot of the pieces and parts out of my Munny game if there's something you may need, if you decide to purchase it.

I used all of the S2000 parts (Lower Cabinet, etc.) to build a standard non-specific machine. So,if you get it and can't get it to work properly or communicate with the Top Box stuff, you've got a solid start on a decent S2000.

Thanks, I will definitely keep you in mind when/if the time comes. The seller only comes up my way every 6 weeks or so, that saves me a 10 hour round trip drive to pick it up.
