MK6 lights
« on: January 10, 2016, 06:38:16 PM »
What are the replacement lights for the buttons and the spin button on a MK6 machine?  Also, where can I buy them.  The key lights look like they may br LED's, and the spin button looks incandescent.

It's  a Choy Sun Doa machine, and it came with a burned out 259 bulb in the spin button.  I replaced that one, and it burned out quickly.  The other buttons have a bulb marked 12v, and appeared to be an LED.  I have a picture of one, if I can post it here I will.

Looks different to the LEDs I'm used to, although it's the same size. If you put a 12V light in and it burned out immediately, it's a safe bet that it's 24V. Of course, one could always probe the two pins with a multimeter to make sure. :)

That said, shouldn't the spin button have the same light type as the rest of the buttons? I don't know how US button panels are compared to Australian (aside from reversed play/bet buttons, e.g. bet 1/2/3/5/8 is up the top in Australia and you hit reels 1/2/3/4/5 to start spinning) but usually "Spin" is the last one on the bottom row and is exactly the same type as the others (unless it's a large Cashman style bash button, but even those use the same LEDs). Is it an Xcite (triangular buttons) or Xceed/MVP/MKV/Series 2? Going by the LED bulb I'm 99% sure it's an Xcite since AFAIK MVPs have larger incandescent bulbs, but I could be wrong...

The base for the oversized spin button is much wider than the other buttons.  The LED bulbs are too small in the base to make contact in the spin button.
The machine is a MAV500 according to the serial number plaque on the side.  I'm told it's a MKVI game.

I worked on a group of these machines about a year ago.  They are nice machines and easier to get running than I expected (like popular Buffalo and my wife's favorite Miss Kittie) Although I guess I found the menu system a little cumbersome or maybe just foreign.  Fortunately in that case all the button bulbs were good and I didn't have to go on a search.  Hopefully this information will partially help (attached below).  For the small buttons you are looking for a wedge base 1 3/4 and for the big spin button your are looking for a wedge base 3 1/4 and if I'm understanding the manual correctly they are both 28vdc.  I did a quick search and found what I believe to be a match from Digikey although they were not in stock but at least that gives you some specs.  Good luck.

Thanks for the information.  These look like the lamps that are in the machine.  I appreciate your sending this information along.

No problem...if you find a source for them with stock you might post the info for future reference.

We get our LED replacements from Suzo Happ. They are good about keeping items like that in stock.
