S+ Barcrest Error

Hi All, a buddy of mine has a Little Devil machine with a "t a6" error showing in the top box led display. The game initializes and the lower part of the game seems ready to play, just waiting on the top box, but the top box cycles, comes up with the above "t a6" error and tries again, and keeps trying. Any ideas on what I need to look at to resolve this? I assume it's some kind of tilt code based on the "t" and the a6 identifies what the tilt is for someone with a code list, which makes me NOT that somebody. Thanks in advance for any and all help

Top box MPU Battery good? And are the lights on the top box MPU on?

Hi Roz, it's an MPU 5 and I'm not sure where the battery is on those. All lighting appears to work fine and test mode for reels and lighting appears OK, but there again, my experience with these is quite limited. He said it's been acting up for like a year and it's just gotten to the point where it won't finally come around and work anymore. One other thing I should mention is that it shows an 18 in the LED display in the top box until the initializing spin, then it goes to the "t a6" error if that makes a difference

The battery is on the MPU5, however, if its been acting up for that long, I do not suspect the battery now. Lets hope it's something simple like a loose connection, but almost sounds like a power supply problem.


The green LED on the left bottom of the MPU5, this is the status light, flashing is normal, to the right of that there are 4 LED's that all should be lit up steady green, if you don't have 4 on you need to check the top box power supply, it is behind the main game reels, you may need to remove it to test it properly. I have the voltages if we get to that point.



The code 18 on the top box is normal on startup. It also tells us you do have communication (between machine and topbox) as the code 18 would just stay on and the top game will not try to start if you don’t. (And just FYI - If the communication between the main game and the top box is working, the small black box above the hopper should have the red and green LED's flashing.)

Thanks for the info! I may just have him bring the game to my house so I can analyze it. Not going to keep running back and forth trying this and that till something works. I will reply when I have more news or information though. Thanks again for a starting point Roz

Yah, I don't think it's something you could do remotely (or with the owner looking over your shoulder, lol).
