Netplex down Battery?

I have an S2000 with a enhanced board I just got. The battery was bad so I replaced it with the same type.(CR2353) After replacing the battery I get nexplex link down. I tried doing a clear but it would not clear. I removed the battery and it boots normal and gives me a main battery low.
What an I missing?

The green varta is also dead. You can try leaving it turned on for twenty minutes or so then cycle the on/off switch and see if it boots. Or carefully remove the green battery and the regulator at U16.
It should work after that.

i just got 4 machines which use the enhanced board...all of the varta's are shot and leaking...am i reading correctly that they do not need to be replaced on the enhanced boards? all i have to do is remove them and the u16 part? i know they dont on the regular boards but am confused about the enhanced...

That was all I had to do was remove the battery and the u-16 regulator and everything worked great.

The easy answer is it won't work unless you remove the regulator.
The sensing circuit is still operational if the regulator remains and it must be disabled.
