Make sure battery is in the right direction on back plane , had a machine in a while back and it was reversed causing issue
2
Remove the 2. batteries and try a clear without the batteries to see if the error goes away.  If it does, after the clear put the batteries back and do the clear again before you try to boot with os and game.

Unfortunately, running the clear on the MPU with both batteries removed gave me the same results.  I'm assuming when you said both batteries you meant both on the MPU.
sounds like a bad clear cf card or wrong one. I had this happen before with wrong clear cf card. Double check you have the correct #clear card

IGT Reel Touch Games / Reel Touch board repair question
« Last post by Phan000 on Today at 11:49:11 AM »
A pinball pro friend of mine re-capped the touch box board for my Tabasco machine.

Still won’t post or produce any video out.

Is there anything else to try?  Or lost cause.

Thank you.

second coin the step up coil/switch responds but the corresponding solenoid does nothing. at this point, dropping another coin gets no response until I manually hit the step up solenoid. after pushing in this solenoid then the next coin drop responds with the step up coil/switch.

if this means the second coin causes the coin unit step-up relay to power and stay powered (metal armature plate is held down on the coil top so a third coin doesn't appear to do anything), then:

- the switch on the coin unit step-up relay with orange/green (74-1) and red/black (18-6) wires isn't closing when the relay is powered

- plug connection issue

- coin unit step-up coil is bad.  If it doesn't appear burnt, then check for the coil wire being broken off a wire lug

The key lock lever works properly it in and out the switch photo eye when the key is turned. The red light goes on and out. I found32vdc on the CN-10 9 pin plug between the violet and black wire (7and 8). The cherry switch are connected properly . I tested the switch and it works.

Possibly the contacts need to be cleaned on the coin step up relay and step up unit switches.

Check the contacts for continuity after the reset.

Also, the screws that hold the switch stack on the step up unit.
Slim chance, but a possibility they’re loose and the contracts are misaligned.

Trace the wire colors from the step up switch stack to the step up unit.
One of the wires will connect to the step up coil, directly or indirectly.
Indirectly as in going through a switch in the stack.

Not sure if Wolftalk posted a link or drawing of the schematic for the electrical functionality
involving this area. It will aid in tracing the correct wires.

If the machine has been sitting for a long period, contacts will oxidize.
As the machine comes back to life, usually in some case other problems will arise.
Especially in dirty and abused machines.

Curious to find out about the fourth coil.

Attaching clear well lighted photos will help.
