96433600 "Sam McGillaCutty's Lost Treasure" Repair
« on: July 07, 2018, 06:50:40 PM »

Having random board issues with this one. Got a replacement S2000 v504 on the way.
I managed to get a few plays out of it before it went insane and everyone seemed to work. Did not check the ticket printing yet.
Video on my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/ryengoth.
I can not find this model# and game title ANY where. The person I bought it from said it came from Bally's in NJ. The base looks like a casino base and  there's evidence of it inside including a 1999/2000 drop box interface module from Casinovations. Coin mech and hopper are gone, ticket out only. There is a player tracking face-plate behind the solid one(stuck on) so it originally had a player card setup.

May or may not try to make it coin-op for the house. I may just flip this one as-is for bill and ticket play. If I keep it I'll probably swap the glass, reels and software for double diamond or a multi-line game.

The SG000200 chipset on the original board does not like the Key 31. Looks like this is an older game than I thought. The new board seems to work OK but can't get into key chip config and it's giving a door open M error. Video soon.

You could try a Key 17, but that 31 should be backwards compatible. Better bet would be to swap the 200's for 363's and check with member RB to see if you can get a better SB chip to replace both the SB1000 and get rid of that S plus chip in the socket next to the version chip. The setup you have is a "workaround" IGT used back in the day for older chips on then new S2000 platform. Odds are the title you have is a clone of something that was extremely popular

I was planning on picking up a 598 set soon to replace the 200. Would the 363 be a better option with this older game?

3 reel machine, 363 chips is the way to go. Not even sure 598's would work

I bought the board (with newer audio dimm and daughter board) from eBay homeslotmachines. He said either would work with it but finding a compatible stepper base for this game may be tough. I gotta decide if I want to repair this game on the cheap and flip it now or just put cash into a newer game and try to recoup it in the sale later. I will keep it for a while but it'll be sold eventually. Right now, I just want it working so I can verify the ticket printer works and the bill acceptor will take its own tickets. If I run across a multi-line game that's reasonable I will probably change it all out.

I got up with RB and have a full chip set on the way. Thanks!

It's a clone of 3-coin Double Diamond from an S-plus system. I suspect it was a house game from Bally's in Atlantic City that could have had custom payouts. I can't think of why they'd keep the s-plus chips on an s2000 board unless there was custom payout tables for that game title.

I have a chip kit on the way from him. 363 set and stepper base upgrade with the newer 3-coin game chip to get rid of the 1000 base and s-plus reel chip. Key and clear as well to make sure I have what I need to get the 504 board working.

Yup, I can vouch for that. He offered his # for support with the chip swap and config. He also set me up with parts needed to complete a 6-6-3 swap with multi-denom touch pad. Once I finish the IGT repair video series I will do another one on the 6-6-3 and multi-denom swap.

It's back working now! Have run about 1200 credits through it so far and about 20 bill feeds (1,5,20) with no issues. Got the newer credit/cash format on the dot matrix display from the newer version chip. Changed the sound to the multimedia board music and am setting up the door optic bypass for the light switch. Multi-denom mod and TITO coming shortly. The ticket printer works and the Bally's tickets are still viable. New tickets on the way. I'll try to post the final repair video tonight, still have editing to do and trying to decide if I want to include the bypass wiring or make it a separate video. Probably a separate video.

Thanks! RB helped me out greatly with the new game and version chips as well as info on the TITO and a used deluxe TITO. Door optics bypass is done and video is sitting on the camera. I'll try my best to get some video out tonight on the YouTube channel. I had 2 other projects I needed to finish last night and replacing 10 RGB SMD LED modules and trace repairs did a number on my eyes. Meh, I'm getting old.

I have everything I need, I think, to do the 6-6-3 swap and install the touch pad multi-denom module. I'm itching to do that but I need to catch up on video editing. The door switch bypass video will be uploaded after the final repair video is done. I still need to bypass the meters too, coin in is still ticking away. The win meter is broken and the last dial just bounces between 8 and 9.

The 5-5-2 setup with credit display will be coming out and I'll probably sell it as a bundle once the new setup is working. I'll get more pics of it all when I pull it. If you're interested in it, let me know.

Multi-denom will be a fun addition.
