Bally Electromechanical / Re: Bally 809-N
« Last post by shortrackskater on Today at 09:15:03 AM »
Hello! I recently acquired this slot and I am looking to find out more about it, model/year/value? If there is anything you can tell me that would be great.
I wanted to find a user manual, there are a few functions that are not working correctly that I wanted to try and get fixed. Thank you for your time.

Along with what wolftalk just wrote to you, there is a LOT of information on the Bally on this board. Simply scroll up slightly, add "809" in the search box and change the search area to "this board."

My backplane board does not have words on it either. 3902 13" GameKing cabinet. There is an 8-pin port labeled J12. Is this Netplex? I could not find my particular machine in the NLG File System (I am a contributing member.)

No.  J2 on the top of the motherboard is the Netplex connector.

Looks like I'll have to disconnect and remove the I/O tray (is that the right word for the tray above the MPU tray?) in order to access J2. Seems scary but I'm guessing it's no big deal?

Any way you can post a video? Even if only to youtube, it will let us see what it is doing. Right now my mind is going to power supply acting up. Or you have a door hinge that is allowing it to move while pressing the button. I had a vision doing weird things once and traced it to vibration. Taping the door, reels spinning etc. Found that the MPU was not seating well in the MB. Replaced the MB and never a problem since

Hello, thank you very much for your quick, complete and very precise feedback.
From memory, two years ago now I bought chips from a member of the site because I was told to do so.

I played with these chips because today again by pressing everywhere between the test button and the reset key the machine started again and I have just played around fifty games with it without problems, sometimes it works for 6 hours immediately without problem and then impossible for three days it remains blocked.

For the lights, it is perhaps not very visible in the pictures but sometimes it is the bottom 3 which are lit, including the green one and sometimes only the orange one at the top.

Attached are pictures of the MPU, the location of the Varta battery which was not present on the board, the chips as well as the picture of the coin mechanism which works perfectly and which gives 10 credits for one token.
Thanks for your help

Come on guys, isn't there anyone on this form that can answer my questions?
Also looking for  SMI chips 9716 or 9717 for this machine with no replies. Do I have the one and only Bally Beach Party slot machine?
Help is desperately needed. Thanks to anyone that replies.

809-N is a lightning model made for Kelly's Nugget casino.

the paperwork for it is on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/809-N/

generic manuals - which are mostly exploded parts diagrams - https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/bally_manuals/

there's other stuff if you poke around in https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/

while the bally 400 manual covers the 809's, the 2400 and 2600 manuals have updated information - especially if you have the newer parts on the right side of the reel mech.

yell if you want info on any specific issues.

btw, if you are in deep enough to access the flourescent tubes, please provide info on what generic part numbers they are (FxTy or whatever it says on the things).
