Title: Bill validator not working after battery change
Post by: Ramdial on May 18, 2016, 01:12:30 PM
MODERATOR'S NOTE: This topic was originally posted as a reply to this topic about a different machine (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=10283.0) -- it has been split into a new topic as the issue here isn't quite the same as the previous thread.

Here is a link to the typical settings for an SP1271. That is your game chip. See if this helps. I'm guessing like the others that the hopper limit is set to 0. And you're getting a hand pay situation. And welcome to NLG.

Hello Ramdial,

It wasn't me with the problem, my comment and photos in reply#5 was in regard to a question from another user named gamesmedic. He had posted the photos on another website so I copied them here to make it easier for anyone wanting to help him. Not sure if he got things working or not.

Welcome to NLG,
be sure to post any questions you have about your machine. As others have said your problem is likely a setting. The link Shaggy gave will give you the procedure on checking and changing the settings. If you have difficulty getting it done just ask for some help, there's lots of experienced S+ folks here.

not a problem, we've all done it at one time or another.

What kind of machine and game do you have?  Can you post a photo of it, we love seeing other people's machines.

Hi , I have attached picture of machine.
@Shaggy, thanks for link and this worked for me to get almost all things back to normal .

The only thing I would like to get back working id the BV .
Just a little background.
Machine sat for a year off and needed new battery ,
I messed around some and changed some of the setting before changing battery.
Changed battery and then had these problems.
Got most back except the BV
From link : http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=514.0 (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=514.0)

Is the only change I cannot make.

Do I need to get a chip to set up BV or is there another setting I can try?  I am thinking this is S plus.

Thanks for all the help.

Fixed tiny font issue.  -knagl

Beautiful machine, I love round tops. Yes sir a set 15 will work if all you need to do is enable is the B/V. The SP1271 is able to do a lot of things but if only a validator needs to be enabled a 15 should do the trick. An 88 is the first most recommended but just for the validator, 15 is the work horse. Now if you think in the future there may be additional things you may want to add. The 88 may be a better choice. It will set the B/V also. You choose. Glad you got it going. Keep us posted.

Thanks  - is there somewhere where you can see what the chip set 88 does ?

Thanks again .

Here's a link to the 1271 PSR  (program summary report). It will list all the special features for this particular SPchip. That is where the set chips are listed etc. Read through this and you'll see the different things. Sometimes it's tournament play, progressive play and different options of the EPROM. Give it a read.

You are supposed to be a contributing member to access downloads but usually when we provide the link it allows you to download. I'm stumped. I saw another member do it a week or so ago. I'll do more checking. Sorry

Nope, it checks for your access level when you post a link like that.  I think I know of a way around it, but I'm not keen on posting how to circumvent the system.

That said, you can always either attach the file to a forum post (in the same way like how you attach an image), or e-mail it to them directly to help them out.
