IGT I-Game Lock and Roll
« on: April 06, 2019, 05:58:46 AM »
Hello all!
I am working on repairing my other IGT machine I picked up and have hit a roadblock. Originally I was getting a touch screen communications failure but after I removed the board (while off), now the screen will not turn on at all. The candle lights up and flashes quickly, the bill acceptor cycles and the glass lights are illuminated but not power to the screen.

On my main board I have 5 Amber lights illuminated. Without a screen, it's tough to know what is going on.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

LCD or CRT?  Looks like the machine is booting, but you can't see it because the monitor isn't working.

Yeah it's a CRT. I removed the CPU and tried to do a reset on the board and now the screen is not powering on. I hear it getting power as it discharges when you power down the machine but no display.

Well it looks like the MPU is booting like it should, but you can't see it because the CRT is dead.  If you have another machine you can swap it with give that a try.

Ok, I will give that a go. Is there a way to convert to LCD by using the crt touchscreen attachment over a standard LCD monitor and then creating a VGA adaptor to igt 19 pin. Just curious.

No the LCD touchscreens are flat.  The CRT touchscreen is curved like the CRT.

Hello all,

I wanted to check in again. I was able to get another board to rule out any MPU problems but that did not correct the issue.

I have not been able to get a hold of a new monitor but since my monitor was working just a day before this happened, is there anything else I can rule out such as a bad board battery or connection.

I am hearing the crt receive power but nothing else.

Also, right before my monitor went out, it would flash through colors for quite a while before starting up.

Any thoughts, thanks!
