I saw a 24 year old S+ machine. Are there any that are 25 years old, CA legal?

There are, the S+ started in the early 90's.  In fact I have one with a datecode of march 1994 I believe.

The law is pretty dumb, if the machine was manufactured for 10 years, then why is the one built in Dec 1999 not legal, but the one built 12 months earlier is, they are the EXACT SAME THING.

The S Plus is legal for the first 5 years of production.  My oldest one is June 1989.  Liking that we can collect these!  :-)  Only bummer, those earlier ones usually do not have Bill Acceptors.

One option is to do what I do. Buy the machine you like and eventually it will become CA legal (25 years old). The first one in my collection becomes legal next year.
