3902 ( cleopatra) key chip problem
« on: January 05, 2020, 03:26:57 PM »
i tried to do a key chip on a cleopatra with a printer issue.3902 board,  game chips are g0001856 , base chip 10000980.  i did a clear for the credits, then used a 40 key chip. i got into the keychip menu, and was able to set the demon.  thats are far as i was able to get. game works, but no printer enabled. is 40 the right chip , or do i need a different one? if i need a different one, i have a burner, anyone have an image?

thanksmike

Key 22 is the correct key for it.  Key 40 will work, but you may have to clear ram/eeprom in order to get to the keychip menu.  Since you said you did get into the keychip menu you should have also been able to enable the printer.  From the Key Chip Menu, touch Machine Options--> Peripheral Devices Setup--> and the Enable/Disable icon next to THERMAL PRINTER.

...or the touchscreen needs to be calibrated?
Can you draw perfect circles in the calibration mode?
If not, the NOVRAM plug may be loose on the touchscreen board?

Key 40 might get you looking at the settings even if it is the wrong key, unless you use the correct (I think Key 22 is correct)  chip the options will be there but will be grayed out.

do you have another machine you can try the printer in?  or maybe another printer to try in the current machine?

you said the TS and BV both worth themselves, since the printer is the "new" part in question, it leads me to think the issue might be with it
