Game King questions...
« on: December 17, 2020, 09:59:04 PM »
Hello everyone. I'm new to the Game King world, but I had posted earlier this year in the IGT PE forum...
Anyway, I just picked up a Game King today. It seemed to be working fine when I checked it out, but now that I have it home, none of the buttons seem to be working.. No lights, and in the diagnostic mode, none of them register. I can play the slot games using the touch screen, but not any of the video poker games. Bill validator works fine, and there are credits in the machine.. Any thoughts? I tried searching and found something about an I/O board re-seat might do the trick, but didn't... Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It sure sounds like the door I/O. Try replacing it with a known good one. Other than that check the ground wires going to the button switches. If it is an 044, there are two 15 amp fuses on the mother board. One is for the cabinet circuits & other for the door. Check them.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Can you post a picture of the interior of your machine?  There are a couple of different variations of I/O cards.  The file size is limited to 1MB, so resize as necessary.

There are three I/O cards.  One is on the inside of the door. It slides in horizontal. I think that is for the lower buttons. There are two on the inside on the left. I think the one on the right is the upper buttons. Anyways pull them out while the power is off then re-seat them. See if that makes a difference.

Edited to correct I/O position.

Thanks for the pics.  I flipped the machine back upright, hurt my back too  :Tongue_Out: .  You have 17" Igame/GK+ cabinet, that's what I wanted to see.  The I/O card mounted on the door controls the lower row of buttons and lamps, the service, bet max, and repeat the bet switches on the upper row.   The left I/O board inside the cabinet controls the candles, hopper, meters and a couple of other things.  The card on the right controls the upper row of buttons (5 buttons used for Line bets with I-game software).

If reseating the I/O card hasn't helped, you can swap the door I/O card with the right I/O card.  Give that a shot and see what happens.

if you change out the door i/o card, make sure you use one that ends with the number 802.

an 802 i/o card is for two rows of deck buttons.

an 801 i/o card is for one row of deck buttons.

Thanks for all the info! I didn't see the card in the door. After reseating it, everything works!
Is this machine a particular model?

:applause: .  It's a 17" Game King+/I-game+ plus cabinet.  Yours is equipped with a 3902 MPU.  Glad it's working again!
