3902 GK5.3 Fuzzy Sound

So I ran a search in the forums for this but couldn't find an identical issue...
The sound coming from the speakers sounds a buzzy/static distorted.  For example, after a win and the payout counts up, it's a little fuzzy sounding and when it stops there is a slight buzz at the end. 
Could it be the speakers?  Chip? Board?

Most likely the MML2 sound board.  There's caps on them that fail and cause it.  You can either replace them or the board.  Boards are cheap.

Unfortunalely the replacement Multimedia Lite board didn't resolve the issue.  What might be the next culprit?

That would be the next logical step to me.  I'm really surprised the MML2 board didn't fix it.

Try cleaning the contacts on the sound simm.  I should have a DSS00589 if you need it.

Im surprised as well.  I used a different MML2 board with the same DSS00589.. But get this...
I also downgraded from GK 5.3 to 4.something so that I could get the slot games for my partner to play, and even without the MML2 and using the CG1 and CG2 EPROMs the buzz is persistent.

There is a MLM1 sound board for eproms for 4.x sets.  You do get some sounds without the MLM1 board which come from the base or gme chips I believe, not sure which.
