61-1 will not clear

I have read the other 61-1 error post for the S+ and used the clear and set chips, following the instructions in the frequently asked questions section.  After I turn the machine back on I get the 61 code, I open the door and press the white reset button next to the on/off switch.  I get the ding and then the 61-1 code appears. With the door fully closed, I then turn the jackpot key and nothing happens the 61-1 code will not clear. My battery tests good and this machine has worked before. any suggestions on a fix would be appreciated.  The top candle flashes slow and the bottom candle flashes fast.

The fix was, the bill validator door micro switch was not showing the door to be closed.  I taped the switch closed and that fixed the problem.

Taping that door switch is okay....splicing that wiring is a more permanent solution for a home machine.
