BB2 doesn’t like my OLED button panel
« on: November 27, 2020, 11:41:49 PM »
I went to one of the machines I sold last year it had aOLEDbutton panel not recognized error. This is the same panel that’s been on it since I purchased it last year and it has worked just fine.I checked all the connections on both the button panel and back plane and all was good so I did a clear and reprogram and when I got to the point of installing which button panel I had, the way it was programmed before when I tried to finish it comes back with a not the correct panel picked so I cleared and reinstalled again but nothing offered in the drop downs looked right to me. What it was installed in before was standard OLED button panel here is a picture of the video buttons and the only sticker on the back of the panel. If anyone can help thanks in advance.

Have you tried using a different usb cable/port on the mpu? Your panel pcb may have also gone bad.  Do you have the PC usb diagnostic tool?  What I typically do with panels that act weird, is replace it with a known working one to see if there is anything wrong with the wiring.  If it works, then you know it is panel related and most likely a bad pcb on the button panel.

Do you have another OLED panel from another machine you could swap out to test?

The software list 4 or 5 different options when selecting the type of oled button panels, anyone know how they are different?

If the panel is working correctly, the system defaults to the correct setting and you should never have to change it.  If it is not working, and you have swapped all the cables, then:

1.  Bad player panel pcb.
2.  USB ports on the MPU are not working.  (Do you have a bb2 dongle game to test and see if works, this would test the USB ports).
