Bettor TITO Kit - US vs Europe??
« on: November 22, 2018, 09:20:55 AM »

I live in Norway and have a s2000 slot machine that I haven’t done anything with except changing the plug of course, I read inside the slot machine it change automatically between 110 and 220 volt so I just plugged it in the wall and works perfect!  :applause:

My question now is that I want to install the bettor tito Kit that works on 110 volt, do I need a 110/220 converter or can I install it and connect it somewhere inside the slot machine that runs on 110 volt ?

And what if I want to instal several 110 volt items, like bettor Tito with the Bally Mastercom tracker etc.. ?

It depends on the various power supplies.
Most modern supplies are auto switching.
Ie my IPhone USB charger.
My laptop power supply.

The IGT S2000 is auto switching but the older S+ is not.

Yes you can plug Tito in inside machine. To plug in more than one 120 device get something like this:

The outlet will be the same but the voltage will be 220.
So.....While you can plug it in....the question is will it blow up due to the 220v ?

I hear what you are saying, why wouldn't it switch that service plug over to 110 also?

So If I understand you guys correctly I can safely use the three gang extension lead
in the service plug and it will only give me 110 volt ?

Don’t want to risk burning down my house 😩🔥🎰

And since it’s pretty tight back there does it exist a plug with a flat head so it don’t crash with the hopper ?

Yes there are flat ones.  I would WAIT until someone knows for SURE that outlet will be 110v.  I have never tried it.

Most positive check should be with a volt/ohm meter regardless of which answer you get here.

I don’t have a s2000 working on 220 voltage.
I am thinking that the internal service outlet is pass through
But... then if voltage is not stepped down other things like the fluorescent ballasts would also need changing.
So I cannot definitively say.

Checking the voltage with a meter is a good course of action and It’s pretty simple.

To use a volt meter set it to AC
Choose a value greater than or equal to 220 and set the dial to this.
There is a red and black lead - because this is AC it doesn’t matter which is which.
Put them into the two slotted holes and read the meter.
If it’s a digital meter the voltage will be displayed on the screen.
If it’s a analog meter look at where the needle is relative to scale you choose.

I have this cheap volt meter but I’m not sure if it’s made for 110 / 220 volt!

I didn’t found it on English but maybe you still understand from what you see from this link ?

That meter doesn’t look too cheap to me.

I would use VAC 800 (might be 600 I didn’t have my glasses on).
Your other option is 200 but that’s too low to check what might be 220 or 240.
Your good to go.

I checked with the volt meter now and it showed 240 volt from the service plug
when I tried it on vac 600!

So does that mean we have solved the question if the servce plug converting the volt from 220 to 110 when it’s used outside US ?

That also mean I have a challenge since the service plug gives 220 volt and has a US plug
and then it won’t fit my Norwegian plug?

Or maybe the smartest thing is to get a 220 - 110 power converter for use outside the slot machine,
Install it between the wall and slot machine so I can use the service plug for 110 volt as normal

It would be so much easier if we all used the same volt 😩😂

 :thank_you:

What you need to do is check with the Bettor Tito people to see if the power supply shipped with the unit is auto-switching. Ie look at your laptop power supply and you will see that it says 110/220v ac input and 19.4v DC output (or something similar). In which case you need to do nothing other than use the right plug.

Power converters can be expensive so if the bettor power supply is not auto switching then it might actually be cheaper to buy a auto switching power supply than buying a converter.  What I mean by power supply is the small adapter that plugs into the wall and converts to DC. eBay, AliExpress, etc sell these things cheap.

Same comment regarding your mastercom or other add-on toys.

The power adapter that comes with Bettor Slots TITO says- input: ac100-240v  output: DC5v

However the power adapter for the bally mastercom says input 120vAC

Here is pic of bettor tito:

So we know that one can’t be used.

The real question ... What’s the output voltage required ?
Finding a 110v:220v in and a 9v out is pretty easy as is 5v, 12v etc

Here is a link to a bally mastercom250 input: 110/220v power adapter output 12v. Looks like 9 to 12v output will work.

I have at least 3 different bettor tito usb adapters, but you could just buy any cheap USB power adapter with 5v 1 amp output if yours isn't rated for 110-220.  I have yet to see a USB charger that is not.
