Well after different M7 chip and relay mod still have error 41, is there a way to test the decoder board? was going to pull out decoder board but that appears tricky, removed nuts and there is another set of nuts betut between board and chassis.

Is this my next step? https://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=39599.msg209288#msg209288

unplug the decoder board, leave it mounted on the frame, clean the metal header pins with an eraser then reassemble and see if that helps.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

Cleaned with eraser even shot some DeoxIT in the plugs and worked them on and off several times still the same error 41

Remove the plug on the reel #1 reader card.
Remove each pin on the connector, one at a time, clean the pin contact area with an eraser, spread the pin back out and use a razor blade to restore the pin flap position before reinserting the pin in it's housing.
Sometimes you will  discover a pin that is broken in half due to corrosion, if you find one replace the entire pin with anew one.

If the above shows no defects do the same procedure on every pin of every connector connected to the reel decoder board.

Cleaned & spread every one on the reel 1 connector put reels back in powered up and after a few seconds hopper starts spitting out nickels kept refilling until finally stopped. Reset closed door put a nickel in pulled handle and no tilt but reels kept spinning with no error, tried this a couple times with same result then all the sudden tilt and error 41, aaaaah was so close, pulled other 2 connectors off board same procedure put back in still error 41. Unplugged reel 1 plugged back in with a few wiggles, pulled handle reel 1 stops no 2 or 3, error 42. Cleaned and spread every wire in all 5 plugs and back to error 41.

Pull out the reel mech and flip it over.
Locate the tiny coil latch arms that are actuated when a reel coil energizes, see the latch arms are mounted on a thin black metal rod.
Spin that rod with your thumb and forefinger. It should spin freely and the shiny latches should not move.
If any of them move while spinning the thin black rod remove all of the old grease from under the latch arms and lubricate the latch arms until the rod spins freely.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

Already cleaned both rods and all the levers before, double checked and they both spin free, I got some action after I cleaned the plug for reel 1 so I pulled reader 1 back out and looked real close at solder joints for the connector and a couple looked questionable so I reflowed the solder and we went back to error 42, pulled out the other to readers and did the same but no change, reel 1 stops then error 42, I will swap card 2 & 3 today just to make sure it does not follow the card.

Pulled and swapped reel readers 2 & 3 with no change, seems like if I wiggle wires it will bounce from error 41 to 42 so I think my next step is to trace all wires to the baud connectors, strange thing happened again I did a reset and it did not do anything right away so I looked at display and I think it read 507068 for a second then hopper started spitting out nickles again, kept feeding and it kept spitting so I just shut it off for the evening.

Do a test 3 and slowly pull the handle and look for the Arm and Kick switch codes.

Also when I first turned it on today it started spitting all the nickels out of the hopper and showed the code in picture (507040), I had to hit reset about 4 times to get it back to normal.
