Hello, been out of the loop for awhile, but just acquired a real nice Money Honey complete with marquee and very clean. Machine worked perfect for about 3 wks now it will not payout on any combo. The Winner payout light stays on all the time don't know if thats the issue. I've cleaned and checked wires can't find a thing. Just prior to yesterday all was fine, now nothing. Any help. Thanks

Check your zero switch contact on your hopper..

Check to see if the payout step-up unit is resetting.
Also the low tech Hopper and Reel adjustment I mentioned.

OK cleaned and check the zero switch, and replaced the one fuse holder thought that might have been the problem....BUT Nope!. Now when I place the reels on any 3 big win symbols such as BALLYS, MONEY HONEY, or Watermelons, the hopper spins the bell rings quarters spit out then the reset timer trips out light goes on machine shuts off after about 30 seconds, push in the reset bar machine goes on the bell rings quarters spit out then shuts down. The machine was working perfect, then it stopped dropping quarters on a single cherry only. After a few plays it would payout again on that single cherry, now it does nothing.

Follow the wires from the motor back to the payout switch. If these contacts do not open the hopper will run until it times out.

Typical wire colors green, green/black or white/blue depending on the year / type of machine.
But your machine could vary.

I think I found the problem. There is a lever behind the zero stop switch, when I push it down it zeroed out and payed correctly. But it will not reset on it's own, I have to manual push it down or it will not payout. I've cleaned and lubed but it still has to be manually reset. Is it possible that the solenoid is bad because I can see the plunger move out when it properly resets.

A couple of things, cleaning the reset mechanism including the plunger might help if you havenâ€™t yet.
But before doing that move the return spring one notch tighter.
This is the spring wound around the white nylon tubular center shaft.
A clean receiver plate with a couple of drops of 3-1 oil applied to the whole contact board will also help in a smooth return.

Moved the spring 1 turn, also replaced the spring on the lever and cleaned the contact board. Still have to push down on the return lever. The solenoid shows 15.6 so I think thats good. tried to oil the center and other metal parts NG

I see the springs in the photo arenâ€™t equal, they need to be close to the same size.
If you have another spring/unit to barrow from give it a try.
Also couldnâ€™t see the bottom contact for the zero switch and the top blade, in my opinion should be straight.

I think the spring will fix the reset problem.

I think I may have a solenoid, at this point I've tried everything. Whats really strange it's been working great up until last week and it stopped paying out on 1 cherry. Then it stopped paying all together....

I would straighten the contact blades to a horizontal position.

The solenoid only momentarily pulls the reset mechanism and it latches open.
Thus the white gear springs back on its own.

Iâ€™m saying if itâ€™s working, but not resetting 100% look for any obstructions.
A loose screw, wire out of place etc.

Took another look at the photos.

In the photo the rubber stop bumper appears to be to low.
If this is so, the cam will only return to that point.

Also appears that the contacts are still resting on the silver 2 pay strips. Another sign the bumper is out of adjustment.

Adjusted the bumper, check and recheck still have to push down on the lever.

Paul,

Will the machine reset itself, but not all the way?
If so, this tells me that its working okay, but not returning to the the last notch on the gear.

Tilt the unit out so you can activated the plungers and observe what is happening.
Push the step up plunger in and hold it in.
Now you should be able to rotate the gear counter clock wise.
Take it back about half way and let it go. Observe what it is stopping on.
Using this same process you should be able to turn the gear either way.
This will make it easier to see what its stopping on.
While you have the unit tilted out take a few photos and post them.
