Another Medilist
« on: May 13, 2020, 01:01:26 PM »
Hi guys,

Hope your staying safe, I have a medilist you know the like 3 games in one machine, the fault is definitely in the reels as I have a spare set that run fine, basically no wins at all pay off nothing the game coins great but nothing pays.  The hopper is fine the fault is definitely in the reels I have checked the switch banks on the lhs and the coin relay switches on the lhs, would anyone know what to look for here?

Many thanks as always

Its possible that a wiper arm is out of alignment, dirty or just stuck.
Winning combinations will have continuity across the corresponding wiper boards.

Set up a payout all the way across the reels.

Use a combination with a shallow index cut in the reel disc.
This will make it easier to check the alignment of the wiper blades in relationship to its contact counterpart.
If all are aligned and making good contact, there will be continuity from the first to the last wiper board.

the medalist has diodes, so you'll need to be a little more careful when using continuity to not probe a place that will be blocked by one.

does your game have the fuse on the front of the reel assembly?

the reel wiper diagram and schematic is on http://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/

the plug charts are on the schematic.

a quick meter check is set up a single cherry win and look for continuity from wire 90 on the reel plug to wire 14-8 on the reel 1 contact plate.  See the w-1041-2649-2653.jpg file on the above web site.

if your meter has a diode check mode and you have a cherry on reel 1, put the black lead on wire 90 and the red lead on wire 13 on the plug pins.  You should get around 0.7V.

you could also jumper 90 to 14-8 on the reel 1 wiper contact plate.  Then the game should detect a cherry win regardless of the reel wiper position.

if you need more info on what the wire id's mean or more details on how to do the above, yell.

Honestly you wouldn't believe what it was, I have a few sets of reels that I have been swopplng into the machine including the diode boards, two mechs have the small board on the outside, guess what this one that hasn't been paying has it in the inside the connectors must have been installed differently when manufactured, flip sake what a fool I am!

Thanks for all your comments and Mr Barry Fox who is still as sharp as ever!

Many thanks again guys
