IGT DRAW POKER MPU board
« on: May 08, 2018, 04:27:03 PM »
I am looking for a mother board for a IGT model 705 draw poker machine.  I'm not sure if you call it a mother board, the one I am looking for is above the monitor.  I don't know if mine can be repaired has a lot of rodent damage.  Any help would be appreciated.

You're probably looking for the MPU board. The mother board is in the back, where the MPU plugs in.
Can you post a decent picture of the board and of the entire machine? It may be repairable. This way we can see for sure what board it actually is.

Aggh!! Rodent damage. The last time I had to clean one of those boards up my bench smelled like rat piss for a month.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

If the board has eproms and a battery then it's called the mpu board. The motherboard is a smaller, simpler interconnect board, sometimes called a backplane, that another board (or boards) and wiring harnesses plug into.

If the machine has had mice in it you'll want to check the wiring, they love to chew on wires for some reason.

Post a photo of the board so folks can identify it. Or look on it for the IGT board part number and post that.

I didn't see the rodent damage to the mpu board, did I miss it?

The part number for the mpu board may be written on the green edge not far from the large white battery. "7670140" ?

EDIT - oops, now I see that the board in photo above is an example, not the OP's specific board.

That is a IGT Fortune 1 MPU board. When I get them in for repair that has droppings or a funky smell the first thing I do is remove all chips in sockets then douse the board with foaming glass cleaner without ammonia. Then I use a soft brush to scrub the board and a stiff brush on all socket contacts. Then blow dry. That usually gets rid of the mouse smell on poop infected boards and cleans all of the dirt and dust off of the board.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

You can run the Fortune 1 without a battery. They run a unusually battery too, I think it’s like a 4.8V battery that’s just a little bigger then a AA.

Oops! I knew that about the battery! My brain is at about 60% right now!  :rotfl:

The battery may only be needed if you want the machine to store financial bookkeeping data, stuff the casino was interested in but for home use probably not.

Many times the machine can be set to play credit mode, where all credits you win get added to the credit meter, then you can play by using the credits instead of having to insert money.

What do you mean by when you say "I have credit chips in the machine"? The machine uses coins or tokens.

on the fortune one machine you have to change chips EEPROM  if you want credit or non credit .  Usually credit machines will have nine buttons and non credit will have eight .  button legend configuration is a little different if you put a noncredit EEPROM in a nine button machine  but will work

A AA sized 3.6V battery works fine in a Fortune 1.Semantics - They are called EPROM's not EEPROM's.

One thing I can tell you about these games is that the buttons must work, not be stuck. I bought two of these a few years back. Both were in non working condition. The only problem I found with both games was with the deck buttons. Once I fixed those issues the games worked.
