IGT s plus can get past code 61-1 after turning re set key thx

I cleared mph board twice when power up code 61 good then hit white re set button by power switch then bell rings then I shut door optics are good I turn jackpot key and nothing happens

Has this machine worked in the past?  It could have a bad JP key switch or wires not attached to it.

Yes the slot has been working fine I got 21 code coup times then I cleared c mos and can only get to code 61 then push white reset button it goes to 61.1 then nothing I tried new mpu board and new game chips and all optics are clear and cash door closed tight I can’t figure it out wires on key switch are on thank for your help

If you have a multi-meter, remove any wire connector from the key-switch tangs with the power OFF.
Then check the two tangs on the key-switch with your multi-meter for continuity in the circuit as you turn the key to see if the switch itself isn't the problem.

Check your deck button wiring... make sure the same colored wires go onto the same pins on each button.
If any are crossed, you're causing a short in logic signals to the MPU.
This could be the reason whenever you turn the key - MPU doesn't see the keyswitch being closed momentarily.
*Edit* The yellow wire on the cash-credit button is different than all the others. 
It goes on the top terminal/pin, but goes on the lower on the other buttons.
Thanks to a fellow  member correcting me on this. 

Only other thing I can think of is to check along the 2 wires leading from the keyswitch back to the MPU connection.
See if there's a break in the ground or data line.Best way to check them is by using your multimeter for continuity.
When you find the two wires ( offhand without looking at a machine or diagrams, I think they're solid green and green w/yellow stripe),that run back to the connector on the MPU, pull off that connector and push it back on.
Sometimes that will allow the female pins to get a new contact point on the male pins and get it working again due to pin oxidization.

Remember, the door must be closed with the latch down  in order to clear [61-1].
I'm hoping this is it....lol

Last resort is something is out of specs on the MPU board that reads the closing of the keyswitch.
At that point, best to send MPU in for repair.

After I typed all this I realized something as well, you cannot get into the accounting data mode by just turning the reset keyswitch?
I'm guessing probably not because the game hasn't really had a chance to get past [61-1] yet and into the MPU bootup mode.

I powered up s plus trun key and spin reel light came on when I I got 0000 winner paid and a 3 at coins played I see every time I turn key the numbers Chang I will check ground wire now at lest one deck light is back on I have three s plus slots I tried mpu board in on there splus and works fine and I have extra mpu board on hand thank you

The procedure is slightly different depending on SP (Game chip).
If your turning the jackpot key and you are getting 0000's other numbers in your display it sounds like your going into statistics mode.

After you press the White Button, you get your DING sound. Close the door.

Ignoring the reset key, Can you play ?

Power up I get 61 press white button and it does ding and changes to 611 close door tried a coin it just kicked coin into tray the grounds to mpu all have  continuity I have new door optics just installed them and still no luck I tried your  suggestion thank you

what started all the problems?  why did you clear it?  why do you think the door optics are good?

It started with code 21 coup months ago and reels where spinning on there own at times after I cleared the mpu and went threw the steps it who’d work fine for coup weeks I traced the key wires to mpu and everything clean good connections the door optics look lined up back in 1990s the 386-486 where easier to work on thank you jim
